2014 Top NBA Draft Prospects

1. Andrew Wiggins

Andrew Wiggins is a 6’8″ small forward from the University of Kansas. If you haven’t heard already, the dude has a max vertical of 44 inches!! He is the most athletic player in this year’s draft class. Wiggins was listed behind Embiid before his foot injury because of his lack of a motor. Many scouts are questioning whether or not he has the motor and killer instinct to be the number 1 guy on a team, and I agree with these scouts. Wiggins did not attack as much during his freshmen season at Kansas as people would’ve liked him to. When his team needed him the most, he did not demand the ball nearly as much as he should’ve. Wiggins outside shot isn’t terrible, but he still needs to knock his jumper down more consistently or else opposing defenders will sag off of him and dare him to shoot. Wiggins has all the tools to be great, and he will definitely be an elite defender in the NBA due to his speed and athleticism; however, his lack of a motor and killer instinct may only lead to him being an average to above average player instead of a great one.
