2015 NBA Draft Big Board Top 30

Karl-Anthony Towns

Center – University of Kentucky – Freshman
Height: 6’11” – Weight: 250 – Wingspan: 7’3.25” – Max Vertical: 36.5”

10.3 Points – 6.7 Rebounds – 1.1 Assists – 2.3 Blocks – 56.6 FG% – 81.3 FT%

Major: Bachelor of Science, Degree in Kinesiology (Wants to return to college after his basketball career and become a doctor)

Overall Ranking: #1 – Comparison: Chris Webber/LaMarcus Aldridge

Strengths: Ideal body size, massive frame that can be sculpted by NBA strength coaches, excellent defender and shot blocker, a long wingspan and large vertical (36.5”) that can erase any inside shot attempt off of the glass, great vision and passing ability for a 7 footer, average low post moves but has potential to add more, good shot mechanics with ability to stretch further outside, high basketball IQ, and versatile enough to play either big man role,

Weaknesses: Needs to add an up-and-under to his arsenal in order to remain effective on the block, sometimes his size/athleticism makes up for falling asleep on defense, sometimes pulls the ball down after rebounds and can get stripped.

Summary: Karl-Anthony Towns has HUGE potential in the NBA. He has a great chance to become an every year All-Star player down the road. His unique skillset and physical attributes will allow him to become a transcendent player. He’s a defensive stopper, terrific rebounder, and has showed great potential as an offensive player. I believe that his shooting ability, free throw percentage, and defense is what sets him apart from his rival big man, Jahlil Okafor. Use the page #’s to navigate through!
