2015 NBA Draft Big Board Top 30

D’Angelo Russell

Guard – Ohio State University – Freshman

Height: 6’5” – Weight: 195 – Wingspan: 6’9.75” – Max Vertical N/A

19.3 Points – 5.7 Rebounds – 5.0 Assists – 1.6 Steals – 44.9 FG% — 41.1 3P%

Overall Ranking #4 – Comparison: Manu Ginobili

Strengths: Excellent measurements, can play either guard position, very intelligent, sees one-to-two plays ahead, often makes the “hockey assist”, great ball handler, incredible passing vision, confident in his passing, shooting mechanics are smooooooooooth (similar to most left handers), very good jump shooter from any spot, any angle, and very competitive.

Weaknesses: A little too confident in his passing ability at times, makes questionable decisions with the basketball, relies on jump shot more than getting to the rim, decent defender but can improve with development and effort.

Summary: Russell is a fantastic guard that can light up the NBA while on offense (from either guard spot), but will need to work on his defense, strength, and attacking to become elite. Regardless, he’s still the best guard in this draft strictly on his distributing ability and scoring.
