2015 NBA Draft Big Board Top 30

Willie Cauley-Stein

Center – Kentucky University – Junior

Height: 7’1” – Weight: 240 – Wingspan: 7’3” – Max Vertical: 37”

8.9 Points – 6.4 Rebouns – 1.0 Assists – 1.7 Blocks – 1.2 Steals – 61.7 FT%

Overall Ranking #5 – Comparison: Tyson Chandler

Strengths: Ungodly rare defensive talent, can switch onto any position and fulfill expectations, active hands, protects the rim as if his family is on the line, incredible acceleration and lateral quickness, unhealthy leaping ability, great runner, can dunk over the top of anybody, cleans the glass well because of athleticism, and improved shooter.

Weaknesses: Not a strong offensive threat, poor passer, poor ball handling, extremely raw, weaker frame, needs to get stronger so he can become a better rebounder, and is a terrible free throw shooter.

Summary: Cauley-Stein, or WCS, doesn’t have a great natural feel for the game, but his ELITE athleticism and defense has turned him into one of the great prospects of this year’s draft. WCS’s athleticism and combine testing ranked among some of the best players ever, in regards to his size. He is a game changer that could develop into a franchise player with hard work and the right fit. Larry Bird has already called him a “$100 million dollar player” without seeing him in an NBA uniform.
