NOTE: NBA All-Rookie Team’s do not have to go PG-SG-SF-PF-C (see last year’s team). It does include 5 players!

Nik Stauskas- SG, Sacramento Kings

Nik Stauskas is a 6’6.5″ guard from the University of Michigan. He was drafted 8th overall by the Sacramento Kings. Many people questioned this pick due to the fact that the Kings used their lottery pick last year on Ben McLemore. Many people also think Nik might’ve been taken too high; however, I think he was picked right around where he should’ve been picked. Nik is widely considered the best shooter from this year’s draft class, and I agree. That should translate to the NBA and make him a threat to score whenever he is on the court. Stauskas also has a tremendous basketball IQ, as he led Michigan in assists last season. He is great at finding his teammates for easy buckets. Finally, Nik is an underrated athlete and finisher. If you don’t believe me, watch some of his highlights. He even posted an insane 40” vertical during a workout with the Lakers! Nik Stauskas may be a liability at times on defense, but I believe his great stroke, insane basketball IQ, and underrated athleticism and finishing ability will be enough to land him on the NBA All-Rookie First Team.
