Predicting the Top-5 Point Guards for the 2014-15 NBA Season

5. Goran Dragic:

2013-14 stats: 20.8 PPG on 50.5 FG%, 6.0 APG, 1.4 SPG, 3.3 RPG

Overview: Goran Dragic may be the most underrated point guard in the NBA. He won the 2014 Most Improved Player Award and earned All-NBA Third Team honors. Dragic can literally do it all on offense. He is capable of scoring from anywhere, which is how he was able to score over 20 PPG on over 50% shooting. Dragic shot 40.8% from 3 last year, which was way better than his 31.9% from the previous season. He also possess a great basketball IQ and averaged less than 3 turnovers per game last season. Dragic is a liability on defense, but there aren’t a lot of top PGs who are great on both sides of the ball. He makes up for his poor defense with his elite offensive game and efficiency, however. Goran Dragic plays on a team with a loaded backcourt, but he is the best player on the Suns and should continue to get 30+ minutes a game. I expect Dragic’s points per game to drop slightly this season, but I also expect him to still be a very efficient player and average more assists per game. Use the page numbers to navigate through.
